But have you ever wished your villain could settle down, have a job and just enjoy life as it is? No. Ok, well, face the facts sometimes being a villain doesn't pay and you need to get a job. Well fret no more, I13: Power and Responsibility is here to satisfy all your working needs. Day jobs. Daily activities that consume most of our time in order for us to make money and spend it on items we probably don't really need. Grinding out day after day doing the same things can be very unrewarding for some. But that daily job monotony is about to change for those who live in Paragon City. Issue 13 of City of Heroes/Villains, titled Power and Responsibility, heralds in the new feature of Day Jobs. Protecting the city is one job but now you can become what you thought was never possible; Banker, Mortician, or even Fashion Designer.
Day Jobs are not the only new feature being introduced in Power and Responsibility. A long wished powerset is being unveiled to Heroes alike, Shields. Yes, now you can be just like the Blue Shield. Raise your shield in victory as you protect not only yourself but your teammates from the onslaught of Arachnos and the other evil denizens that roam Paragon City.
To see all the features of I13 check out this link on Power and Responsibility.
Stay tuned to CoH at Gameamp for more news on Paragon City. Patch notes will be linked in this news once they are released.

From Slashdot:
NCSoft announced today that it will be closing down Tabula Rasa on February 28th. The sci-fi shooter-flavored MMO struggled for quite some time, despite recent attempts to draw in new players by announcements of new features, price reductions, and using Richard Garriott's trip into space as a promotion. We discussed Garriott's departure from NCSoft a couple weeks ago. This is NCSoft's second failed MMO, and apparently layoffs are in the works. They seem to be making an effort to make the game's last few months as fun as they can for their remaining players, though. "Before we end the service, we'll make Tabula Rasa servers free to play starting on January 10, 2009. We can assure you that through the next couple of months we'll be doing some really fun things in Tabula Rasa, and we plan to make staying on a little longer worth your while."
| QUOTE | To the Tabula Rasa Community,
Last November we launched what we hoped would be a ground breaking sci-fi MMO. In many ways, we think we've achieved that goal. Tabula Rasa has some unique features that make it fun and very different from every other MMO out there. Unfortunately, the fact is that the game hasn't performed as expected. The development team has worked hard to improve the game since launch, but the game never achieved the player population we hoped for.
So it is with regret that we must announce that Tabula Rasa will end live service on February 28, 2009.
Before we end the service, we'll make Tabula Rasa servers free to play starting on January 10, 2009.
We can assure you that through the next couple of months we'll be doing some really fun things in Tabula Rasa, and we plan to make staying on a little longer worth your while. For more details about what we are doing for Tabula Rasa players, please click here.
Stay tuned for more information. We thank you for your loyal support of the game and encourage you to take us up on the benefits we're offering Tabula Rasa players.

From slashdot.org
"In a shocking update on the seemingly endless troubles plaguing NCSoft, Richard Garriott — the king of online games, creator of The Ultima Series (and consequentially Ultima Online), as well as the recently troubled Tabula Rasa — has announced that he would be stepping down from his position at NCSoft. Apparently motivated by his recent trip into space, perhaps he has found a higher purpose while orbiting so high above the earth."
To Quote the open letter
Fellow Soldiers of the AFS,
I am happy to finally be able to write the players and community of Tabula Rasa. We’ve been on quite a journey together. First in creating a game unlike any other on the MMO market, then growing a loyal community and finally launching the game and its players into space with Operation Immortality. It has been quite an unforgettable journey, one that I will treasure for the rest of my life.
I am very grateful to you loyal players for sticking around through what I think we can all honestly say was a rough launch. I thank the development team for pushing hard to get polish, updates and new content out every month since launch…a feat that I think is unusual in MMO development. They have a lot to be proud of.
Many of you probably wonder what my plans are, now that I have achieved the lifelong dream of going to space. Well, that unforgettable experience has sparked some new interests that I would like to devote my time and resources to. As such, I am leaving NCsoft to pursue those interests.
This news is difficult for me to deliver. I am honored to have worked with the team I’ve had and I’m grateful to the community who makes this game so unique and fun.
Thank you and farewell.
Richard “General British” Garriott
It will be interesting to see where he goes from here
